The Rats from Room 1

Collage Rainbow

We are studying LIGHT for science.. Part of the study was to make rainbows.
We decided to make a collage rainbow.

 We used buttons

 We also used beads as we found it took a lot of buttons to make our rainbow!

 We had to sort the buttons and beads into colours

 We could only use the colours of the rainbow

Spaceman Sid

Spaceman Sid travels the earth in his spaceship. His latest mission was to go to a planet called Crit!
He diocovered many aliens there, some with one and some with two eyes.  Spaceman Sid discovered there were many different ways to count to nine counting the aliens eyes!

Introducing Shampie

We would like to introduce our new class pet, our rat called Shampie. Heloves to sit on our shoulders. He is very inquisitive and loves to play in mazes that we create.Welcome to Room one Shampie.

Broadgreen House

In conjunction with our unit on kitchens from the past we had a visit to Broadgreen House.
We did some activities, had a good look at the kitchen, and looked through the house. It was a great trip and we saw there were many changes between the old kitchen and our kitchens today.

For Maths one of the groups was making sets of five! We found that we could make sets of five from all sorts of things.

If I was 100

We have been studying 100, firstly we learnt about 100 days of school.Then wrote about what it would be like to be 100 years old! We made some beautiful artwork of 100 year old people. Next we are going to visit a rest home and meet a 100 year old lady.

Trip To Broadgreen House

Parents In conjunction with our science unit on changes in the kitchen between past and present we are planning a trip to Broadgreen House. We will be going on Monday September 8th. Room One will leave at 11 am. We will have a look around Broadgreen house, in particular the kitchen. We will also do some activities. Then we will buy some hot chips for lunch. There will be cost of $2 to cover the visit and chips. Please send the money to me at school. Thanks Noeline

Singing at Assembly

This week we ran assembly, and this is the song we sang and danced to the juniors and parents.

Elephant Fish Eggs

Marion brought some intersting things to show us today. We didnt know what they were, she told us they were eggs from an elephant fish.

Turtle Race

Today we let our turtles have a race. They were a bit confused and kept turning around and running in the wrong direction! But is was lots of fun and our boy turtle won

Bunny Rabbits

Stella brought her baby bunny rabbits to school. We had fun cuddling and stroking them. Thanks Stella and Mum for sharing your bunny rabbits with us.
